Position, course and speed are mandatory to report (see note for supplementary and auxiliary ships).

NOTE (supplementary and auxiliary ships only)

• Course and speed are mandatory to report only when reporting ice accretion and/or ice (selected ships must always report course and speed).

NOTE (fixed sea stations only)

• Fixed sea stations (platform, rig) may set their position by selecting 'Maintenance -> Station data -> fixed sea station' and then inserting the appropriate position items. The entered position will be the default position. In addition, the course will be 'stationary' and the speed will be '0'
